Gun choice for Tiny 10 and small night cats

If you can find and get a solid slower maybe 2500 fps? and be accurate I think you have the perfect set up. Close ups with the 16 gauge and all the reach needed in the 22. That along with the blazer aboard with a "normal" PG barrel and you have nearly all options covered best. MB

Gun choice for Tiny 10 and small night cats

I never even thought of a 17, only experience with one was a chance raven while in Alberta on a whitetail hunt. There must be a ton of calibers and bullets that are not mentioned here. I only reported/mentioned on what did or did not work for me. Good point on the predator hunter guys, they...

Gun choice for Tiny 10 and small night cats

Now that's what I like to see. Real life verified info from those that probably see more bullet impacts with outcome data to support in 1 year than I will in a life time. Another reason this site works for us all. Good on you KMG. MB

Gun choice for Tiny 10 and small night cats

I have added night critters and members of the tiny ten on every safari. In Namibia I used the outfitters 22 to shoot dik dik and it worked perfect. No damage, then my 308 and 150 gr solid got me an antbear, again no damage. First time In Zim I used my 375 and solids, duiker, steenbuck and...

Buffalo & Free Roaming Hippo Special $7,900 Each

Another safari not in plans for me yet, however I do want/need a hippo for my seven and I did see the night critters on your website. The honey badger that has eluded me on 3 safaris will be high on list for next time. You are on the shortening list of outfitters when I decide a return is close...

Buffalo & Free Roaming Hippo Special $7,900 Each

Great opportunity and each price. Only question, you have 7 day buff hunt and a 7 day hippo hunt for $7900 each? Yet both combined is 7 days and $15800. Why would a person not book back to back hunts and get 14 days, buff and hippo for $15800. Am I missing something? If like me, more days...

Some shoulder mounts from a recent safari I completed

PS LOVE how you left the bushbucks split ear alone and mounted as shot. Also no tar blackened "unnatural horns". Perfect in my eyes. Mark

CANADA: Saskatchewan Black Bear Hunt May 2024

I have found when it comes to bear meat and eating it depends on what bear has been feeding on. Our mnt bears taste good after a summer of wild blueberries, Forbes and grasses. The ones that live down in the river valleys not so much with their diet of half rotten salmon. The back loins from my...

CANADA: Saskatchewan Black Bear Hunt May 2024

Excellent story. Point about big bullets and exit rings true. I am lucky, live on Vancouver Island, close to Mr Shockey's hunt area, we have tons of bears, no baiting in BC, spot and stalk only. Its straight up or down and dam thick jungle, having him go down real close and preferably within...

    Round Chambered…or Not?

Lets not dist all Canucks. Every safari I ask and have done what the PH said. Every safari was round chambered weapon on safe, and always cleared and confirmed before entering camp. One I was actually told something like, "are you hear to shoot" stuff not normally standing around if you want...

Northern Lights in South Georgia. Get outside now!!

Was a good show here on Van Isle BC last night. Another clear one tonight, lots who missed the show last night may have another chance tonight. Did not wave and move like it does way up north. But still worth staying up to see. MB

Importation or Transiting Procedures Through Countries with Weapons & Ammunition

That's good to know. Wonder what the sig requirement really is? Maybe a random check and confirmation? I must have the "check" him circled as every trip out in last few years has required sig, you are correct that CBSA officers mostly have no clue and Its us who inform and insist on the stamp...

    Questions about first African hunt

NO not a poor experience. Just know what it is and make up YOUR mind if that's something YOU want to do. Its NOT a canned hunt, its probably a CBL hunt, do some research and see if that's what YOU would enjoy. I did that type of hunt in 2021, exhilarating as you are on the ground in close...
