I floated the Klutina in Copper Center in late July 23’. You can keep one King. We drifted eggs but not with fly rods. The current would have made landing one on a fly rod nearly impossible where we fished.
Phoenix Phil. Stop putting out logic, facts and science into your posts [emoji23]. If the Whelen fans want to use recoil from a factory load but velocity from a compressed super max load of modern powder fired out of a 28” barrel that is logical. Never mind that the .338 has 19% more powder...
Enjoy Charlie. I will be hunting with Pieter in late July for some plains game with the bow. I hear there are drought conditions in many parts of Namibia.
I’ve never booked an African hunt there, but there are lots of outfits there worth talking to. Including some AH sponsors. Usually some good specials for a first time plains Safari, depending on what you are looking for. For my 4 African hunts i have always tagged along with a group of friends...
Very interesting combo! Thanks for posting. How did you hear about the outfits you went with? An outdoor show, friend, or just research online? I didn’t realize Florida had exotics to hunt. The outfits i see at shows are usually pigs, gators and more recently the iguanas.
Ok thx. When i flew there in 2018 i only took a bow. It was in a case that could be used for gun (if broken down). Fortunately it checked through without me having to inspect.
I have an 1:20 layover for connection at Addis for the leg to Windhoek. Are you saying i will have to get my baggage off the plane, inspect, and recheck it? I read that i should ensure at departure from Dulles that it is checked all the way thru.
Has anyone flown Ethiopian airlines recently with a firearm? I’m going Dulles-Addis Ababa-Windhoek this summer. I know i need to inform the airline and fill out a declaration but just wondering if anyone has done this and had any hassles. Thx
Namibia in late July. Eland, Kudu, and a few others. Mostly with the bow but will look for a 40” oryx spot and stalk with gun also. Maybe a giraffe with the bow - working in some 800-900 grain arrows.
